I hope you get a freeze to take care of that Salvinia! We have lots of problems with invasives in the Great Lakes, albeit mostly animals. I wonder if it's nearly impossible to stop these plant and animal pests nowadays.

We have a little saying in Middle Tennessee...I wish we didn't...It's "Invasives are Us". Invasives show up everywhere...I hope we can find solutions to the dilemma. Thank goodness for the rubber palm trees to lighten the spirit. gail

Although the plastic palms are hilarious, the thought of invasives makes me shudder. I hope you get a hard freeze to kill that stuff.

Great photos, Jean! I had heard about the flooding in Louisiana, certainly not what your area needs. The salvinia is scary stuff indeed; I thought that was grass growing alongside the boatdock--no wonder it's such a concern!

Impressive pictures of the floods. I had no idea it had rained that much. Hopefully you had a safe trip through that area. Also, congratulations on being chosen as one of Horticulture Magazines "favorite garden blogs"! It is so well deserved!
