Lovely fall shots Jean... I love the polka dots on the Monarch too... sad to see the wing of the Painted Lady so damaged from the birds...( that is no way to treat a Lady) hard to imagine it making it very far in that shape... not sure if or where they migrate. Carol

My first time to drop by and visit you. Love the picture in your header. Our leaves were lovely in Mo this year but a hard rain and lots of wind left us with mostly bare branches this week. Thanks for sharing.

The last shot of the Monarch is magnificent! Good to see your autumn color; ours is fading fast. Most of the trees have lost their leaves already, though there are still a few bright spots in the landscape. Your new header is really striking!

Yes, Donna, you're right about that photo (and thanks for the compliment). It had an old barn and hundreds of daffodils growing wild. I've heard the barn's been torn down but I do hope the daffies are still there. Perhaps I'll put it back up when daffodil season starts up again (usually late February here). I'm looking for some autumn type photos for my header right now!

Jean, the very first time I looked at your blog (probably Feb. '09)your header had a photo with some old buildings and hundreds (maybe thousands) of yellow daffodils. Am I right about that? I've never forgotten how beautiful it looked.

Beautiful shots! The dots on the monarch's bodies are always fascinating. You miss them sometimes with the naked eye but they really show up in your picture. Lovely Jean.
